Now for the good part - what would I try to do ?

The simple explanation of the primary objective of me as Mayor is to administer using common sense to benefit the citizens of Atlanta

I propose:

having a City government that is citizen friendly

no changes to street names during 2014 - 2017

administer operations to maximize the potential benefits residing in the City' resources including the labor force, the backbone infrastructure, and intangibles.

re-consider the Water and Sewer Rate Charges - see if the rates can be lowered

synchronize traffic lights

eliminate expenditures that are wasteful

I think a second airport - would benefit the region / the citizens - we are growing and a second airport would be a good thing -

fund start-up community-based ....self-supporting businesses such bakeries, lawn care

recommend / implement policy for City Employees to say "You are Welcome" when a citizen says "Thank you" - so to say "no probem" less often

improve comunications-infrastructure to enable electronic transmission of records

( for example .... get a police report at a local precint or fire station)

review / improve the zoning and permitting process

( for example .... implement optional "video inspections" )

reconsider amount / collection method of parking fees

reduce the budget of the Mayor's office by 20%

repair all decorative fountains in all parks

place a suggestion box in City Hall and on the City' web pages

unlock the Water Meters covers so people can verify their usage and turn off water if there is a leak

consider legislation that reduces the use of gas-powered leaf blowers / plastic grocery bags

give attention to investment / infrastructure South of I-20

promote Green Energy production / usage

educate City employees of their benefits to encourage smarter more diligent work efforts

cut out middle high-paying "positions" - where work effectiveness is marginal

streamline operations through better communication and cross-work activities

pay more to workers in uniform and those with muddy boots

consider levelizing retirement benefits ( folks that are not working contribute equally )

have City government work for both the citizens and businesses

-----------------

these are some of the practical measures I would try to implement

I would be a results-oriented.....requiring work-smart efforts .....

a non-politician no-nonsense Mayor

THINK ABOUT THESE IDEAS BFORE YOU VOTE -

ISN'T THIS WHAT YOU WANT ?

I WANT A CITY GOVERNMENT THAT IS MORE TANGIBLE

THAT WILL DO THINGS THAT MAKE SENSE -

THINGS ......THAT HELP PEOPLE

WHAT ABOUT YOU ?
